  • The Chinese were among the first people to appreciate the value of the mushroom. About 100 species are being studied for their health-promoting benefits.
  • More than 50 mushroom species have yielded potential immunoceuticals that exhibit anticancer activity in vitro or in animal models and of these, six have been investigated in human cancers which are rich in polysaccharides and beta glucans, the primary active immune-enhancing constituents.
